Preparation

Bio Filler is a non-invasive treatment with few potential side effects and a short recovery time. However, there are still a few preparation steps you can take to improve the safety and efficacy of your treatment:

Bio Filler Procedure

When you arrive for your Bio Filler procedure, we will administer local anesthesia in your treatment area to prevent discomfort during the injections. We will draw your blood and create the plasma gel with it. We do this by placing the blood in a centrifuge, where the plasma is separated from the rest of the blood content. We place the isolated plasma into a centrifuge again, and extract platelet-poor plasma (PPP). We then warm this PPP, where it forms a voluminous plasma gel. Once it has been prepared, we will inject the gel into particular sections of your treatment area, optimizing for aesthetic results. The entire process takes about one hour to complete.

Recovery

For the first 24 hours after your procedure, you should avoid washing your face or using any topical products. You may experience redness, swelling, and bruising in your treatment area for several days afterward. These symptoms are natural and should subside on their own. While you do not have to take off work to recover, you should refrain from strenuous physical activity. The placement of the plasma gel is delicate, and major physical movement may cause the treatment to become ineffective. We recommend that patients take at least 24 hours of dedicated rest at home. Avoid drinking alcohol, as it can lessen the potency of the platelets. You should also continue to avoid excessive sun exposure to allow your skin to heal and regenerate without damage. 

Results

Although your treatment area will be partially affected by swelling, you will be able to see the increase in volume and its skin-tightening effects immediately after your procedure. The rejuvenating effects of the collagen and growth factors will reveal themselves gradually. The consistent position that the fibrin network within the gel holds will continue to release collagen and growth factors in the precise treatment location. This will keep your results uniform while continuing to improve aesthetically. Results typically last for three to six months. This varies from patient to patient, and some need more than one treatment session before they see full results. You can receive multiple Bio Filler injections to prolong the anti-aging effects for years.
